Commission consults stakeholders on circular economy
On 28 May 2015, the European Commission launched a public consultation on the circular economy, ahead of its new circular economy package due at the end of this year.
The consultation has been split into different sections, covering production, consumption, markets for secondary raw materials, sectoral measures and enabling factors. The questions cover a variety of areas, such as product recycling and lifetime extension, measures to promote the circular economy during the consumption phase and obstacles to the use of secondary raw materials. Stakeholders have until 20 August to respond to the consultation. Both CEMBUREAU and the European Concrete Platform plan to respond on behalf of the cement and concrete industry
